The SAR is a non-profit, patriotic organization, composed of men, over age 18, who have a proven pedigree to a patriot in the American Revolutionary War. The SAR accepts pedigrees and Revolutionary War service proven in applications for organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), The Founders and Patriots Society; The Society of Colonial Wars; and the Mayflower Society.
