The SitePal service is funded out of my personal funds. No Schreiner University funds go towards supporting these animations. I have intentionally set the characters to talk once per day per visitor (hey, I'm paying for this!). If you visit again in the same day, they will remain mute and sort of do the stare-around-into-space thing. None of the characters are intentionally being rude or purposely ignoring you, so don't be offended by their silent behavior or report them to the Vice-President Provost or to any of the Deans (now that would be an interesting conversation). The animated characters are only following my instructions via a, umm...magic button...yes, a magic button that only I control. My magic button. All of my animated characters are purely fictional and have no connection to elements of my own personality or to the personalities of any actual Schreiner University student, faculty, or staff, past or present (although the inclination to do so DID race across my mind briefly). I hope you enjoy my cast of characters and this humorous, but useful application of modern cyber technology. Awful thought here. I can just see the misuse of technology already. My students will start sending animated characters of themselves to my classes so that they can catch a few more hours of sleep in the mornings. We are victims of our own designs...
