HEY Y'ALL!
I am experimenting
with this page. I am not sure what I will be putting on it but
thought it might be f-u-n to have a page like this. Bear with me as
I develop this page. Thanks.

Oh yeah! I
guess I could start with some info about myself so here goes.
Name: Denise
Kampfhenkel (Yup, it is German)
Age: If you guessed 29 you are close (sort
of). :)
Education: Texas Woman's University-received a B.S.N in May
1977 (did that give away
my age? I graduated when I was 15 or so) And,
YES, that is a picture of the actual nurse's cap I used to wear (back
in the days just after the dinosaurs used to roam the earth).

Experience: Hospital-Medical-Surgical,
Telemetry, Intermediate Care; Office nurse for Cardiology group; Campus
Nurse for a Children's Home.
Began teaching at SU: June 1, 1987 (at then Schreiner
College)
Philosophy in Vocational Nursing Education: to help my
students become the best nurses they can be. How? By
- Expecting them to aspire to be the best
nurses they can be
- Expecting them to act honestly and
professionally both in the clinical and the classroom setting
- Interjecting principles found in the
nursing workplace into my teaching
- Helping them see areas in which they can
improve
- Teaching them not only facts but
explaining WHY as often as possible
