Purpose:

This Webpage is primarily intended for Schreiner University students’ use. Some insights regarding my personal profile may facilitate in students better understanding their professor’s line of reasoning. However, in general, the course materials and resources at this site are the principal tools that will benefit students enrolled in the respective Professional Studies courses.

My personal perspective and philosophy of teaching is partially influenced by a Chinese Proverb: Teachers open the door. You enter by yourself. I will endeavor to open the door, serve as a partial threshold and conduit, and expose you to real-world business issues, skills, and trends as you travel down your pathway of life.

I believe one of the prominent factors influencing a successful life and business career is communications and the mutual exchange of ideas that results in critical thinking. Critical thinking with the ability to agree to disagree can inspire self confidence and ultimately build a stronger self-esteem. With a high self-esteem, success is both achieved and dynamic; therefore, all courses are focused on these principles.

Thanks for visiting the site and good luck with your studies,

Charles Torti, Ph D
Assistant Professor – Business
Cailloux School of Professional Studies
